<title>Ricardo Kaka - Brazils Speed Weapon</title>

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (IPA [hiˈkaɾdʊ iˈzɛksõⁿ dʊs‿ˈsɐ̃ⁿtʊs ˈleɪ̯t͡ʃɪ]; born April 22, 1982 in Brasília), better known as Kaká, is a Brazilian midfielder who plays for Italian Serie A club A.C. Milan and the Brazilian national team. He was the recipient of both the Ballon dOr and FIFA World Player of the Year awards in 2007, and was named in the 2008 Time 100

Kaká made his debut for Brazil in January 2002 against Bolivia. He was part of the 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning squad, but played only 25 minutes, all of which were in the first round match against Costa Rica. During the final against Germany, coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was reportedly about to send Kaká on as a substitute, but he never made it into the game as the referee did not notice him waving on the sidelines to enter the pitch.

In 2003, Kaká was the captain for the Gold Cup tournament, where Brazil finished as runner-up, as did Kaká with a second-best three goals. He was also named as one of the competitions top eleven players by position. On June 29, 2005, he scored in a 4--1 defeat of Argentina in the 2005 Confederations Cup final, with a powerful shot into the upper right-hand corner of the net. He finished in joint tenth place in the voting for the 2004 FIFA World Player of the Year award, and finished two spots higher the following year.

Kaká started in his first FIFA World Cup Finals in 2006, scoring his first and only goal in a 1--0 victory over Croatia in Brazils opening match. He was also named Man of the match. He was unable to keep up the momentum for the remainder of the tournament, as Brazil was eliminated by France in the quarterfinals. On September 3, 2006, he scored again for Brazil, receiving the ball off a deflection from an Argentina corner kick and taking the ball down three quarters of the field to score.

On May 12, 2007, citing an exhaustive schedule of Serie A, Champions League and national team play, Kaká openly bowed out of the 2007 Copa América, which Brazil eventually won. "I havent had a break for three seasons. I wont have the form to achieve what is expected of me at an international level." Brazil coach Dunga took the optimistic route, declaring that while he was disappointed about Kakás decision, his absence would subsequently free up a roster spot for a less frequently used player. Kaká, however, did play 70 minutes of Brazils 1--1 friendly draw with England on June 1, but only 30 in a goalless draw with Turkey on June 5.

About Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo began his football career at an early age and by the time he went to school he was hooked with a distinct passion for the sport. At barely ten years of age Ronaldo had obtained a reputation for his outstanding soccer prowess in his native country Portugal with teams such as CS Maritimo and CD Nacional vying for his signature. Ronaldo did in time sign for Nacional before moving onto the bigger club of Sporting ready to develop his footballing career.

At Sporting Ronaldo received a first-class instruction and began to hone his natural skills. He made his debut against Moreirense and scored two goals proving that he was capable of playing at the highest standards at a young age. In 2003 he came to the attention of Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United, when Sporting beat the Manchester based club in the inaugural match in the Alvalade XXI stadium.

In this stunning display against Manchester United Sir Alex Ferguson made the decision that he wanted Ronaldo for his team. It seemed he would be the perfect replacement for David Beckham who had departed Old Trafford for Real Madrid. Sir Alex got his wish and signed Ronaldo for a fee of £12.24 million and the Portuguese youngster made his Premier League debut against Bolton Wanderers wearing the number seven shirt made famous by the likes of David Beckham, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and George Best.

In 2005 he was named FIFA Pro Special Young Player of the Year enjoying the special honour of being the recipient of the only award that was voted for by the fans. Ronaldo continued his high standard in 2006 lifting the same award.

Ronaldo has become one of the most creative and influential players at Manchester United and has matured into a player with outstanding ability. Recent rumours have surrounded Ronaldo hinting that he may move to Real Madrid however these were quashed when the midfield maestro signed a new five year contract with Manchester United.

Alessandro Faiolhe Amantino best known as Mancini (mɐ̃ˈsinʲi) (born August 1, 1980 in Ipatinga, Brazil) is a professional football player, currently playing with AS Roma of the Italian Serie A.

Mancini is an extremely versatile player, having played at right-back (only in the early part of his career), right midfielder/winger (his preferred position) and attacking midfielder
Regarded as a promising talent, Mancini began his career in his homeland of Brazil with his hometown club, Atlético Mineiro, where he remained from 1999 to 2002. During that time he had two loan spells, to Portuguesa in 2000 and to São Caetano in 2001.
Mancini was noticed in 2002 by sports director Franco Baldini while playing for the Brazilian national team. He was signed by major Italian Serie A club A.S. Roma, and loaned out for a season to then-Serie B side Venezia. During that time he struggled to adapt to Italian football, and was criticised by the Venezia manager for his errors and control with the outside of his foot, which in Italy is considered unconventional. Mancini only made 13 appearances for Venezia that season, and president Maurizio Zamparini declined signing him on a permanent basis. He returned to Roma to establish himself as a footballer following the departure of his countryman Cafú to Milan
Having lost il Pendolino Cafú, Roma needed a replacement but with his early performances in Italy not the most convincing, many Roma fans were sceptical about his ability. Manager Fabio Capello however gave the Brazilian a chance, and instilled confidence in him. He went on to complete an outstanding first season in Serie A, the highlight being a spectacular backheel flick from a set piece in the Derby della Capitale against Lazio.

For the next two seasons however, Mancini struggled to maintain good form, due in part to several injuries. In 2005, he was set for a move to Juventus where he was wanted by Fabio Capello, the man who had brought him to Roma. New Roma boss Luciano Spalletti blocked the transfer, preferring to keep his winger.

Mancini flourished under Spalletti and during the 2005-06 season began to find his top form, once again becoming a key player for the Roma side. Following the Calciopoli scandal, Roma qualified for the UEFA Champions League, giving Mancini the chance to play at the highest level of club football.

In 2006-07, Mancini left his mark on the Champions League with a memorable goal against Olympique Lyonnais, as he dazzled Lyon defender Anthony Réveillère with several stepovers before firing the ball into the back of the net, sending the giallorossi into the quarter finals where they were humiliated 7-1 by Manchester United.

That same year, Mancini also celebrated his first silverware since arriving in Italy as Roma won the Coppa Italia, beating Internazionale in the final.

in 2007-08, Mancini scored eight league goals as Roma reached the quarter finals of the Champions League and finished as runners-up in Serie A for the second year running. He did not have the best of seasons though, in what would prove to be his last in Rome.
