A little "Cobrastyle" history "Cobrastyle" began its life as "Press Trigger", a 2001 single recorded by Cobra over the Black Shadow labels Buzz rhythm (most people will recognize this rhythm from Sean Pauls worldwide hit "Give Me the Light"). In 2004, Teddybears STHLM recorded a new version of the song for their album "Fresh!", with guest vocals by Cobra himself - or Mad Cobra as hes generally known outside Jamaica. The Teddybears added a new chorus ("My style is the bomb ..."), inspired by the Sugarhill Gangs 1979 hit "Rappers Delight", and called their track "Cobrastyle". Robyn originally recorded this song for the soundtrack of the 2006 Swedish movie "Säg att du älskar mig". At this point, Teddybears member Klas Åhlund had already produced much of Robyns eponymous 2005 album, and this track - now called "Girliestyle" - was actually credited to Teddybears STHLM vs. Robyn. "Girliestyle" featured reworked lyrics to fit Robyn better, removing much of Cobras original Patois. Later that year, Robyn released her "Rakamonie EP" in the UK, and one of the tracks included was "Girliestyle" - or "Cobrastyle" as it was now called. Since then, "Cobrastyle" has been included on all subsequent releases of the "Rakamonie EP" and her self-titled album (the latter was finally released in the US on April 29, 2008 - almost three years to the day after its Swedish release).

On the positive side, Kate Hudson is finally garnering headlines for something other than her revolving-door love life. On the negative side, its because she was sued. Turns out Hudson succeeded in making her new hair-care line, David Babaii for Wildaid, eco-friendly; she was less successful at making it scientist-friendly. At least to the scientists who claim to have discovered and provided, with no compensation, the lines secret ingredient. (View the lawsuit.) According to a complaint filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the Los Angeles-based 220 Laboratories lobbed no fewer than 17 causes of action against Hudson and her hair guru Babaii, including fraud, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of confidence and a host of other not-so-nice allegations, claiming the famous duo welshed on an oral contract establishing the lab as the sole providers of the ranges raw materials. Under the terms of an August 2006 oral contract, 220 Laboratories says it agreed to develop and manufacture the line around the so-called "Vanuatu Complex," basically samples of environmental life and volcanic ash found on the Vanuatu Islands that, apparently, works wonders on flyaways. However, the lab claims that, after months of dealings and a change in the Wildaid management, Hudson & Co. opted to take the secret ingredient list and hightail it over to a competing manufacturer, who agreed to work on the line at a lower cost than 220 Laboratories. Much to the labs dismay, the suit asserts, the competitors products and packaging were a little too similar to their original idea, as was the products inclusion of the so-called Vanuatu Complex. Hyping the special ingredient continued with a high-profile appearance by Babaii on the Home Shopping Network in July, to which Hudson called in to promote the products, as well as in promotional videos for the line, which officially launched a month earlier. 220 Laboratories claims it neither consented to the use of its ingredient nor the name and, even if there was consent, the lab has yet to receive any form of payment. The plaintiffs ars seeking compensatory and punitive damages plus interest. Meanwhile, the actress camp says, What? "Kate and her attorneys are only just learning of the complaint, as Kate has not yet been served," publicist Brad Cafarelli told E! News Monday. "Kate does not know the plaintiffs and has never met with them or spoken with them. Her representatives believe that the claims are baseless and without merit and intend to vigorously defend the lawsuit." (This was from an article found on eonline. Hello folks, its me again and I have a request for you. Using this "unofficial" WildAid fan video I made a while ago, I hope to get something done about an issue that really means a lot to me. This is a time of great importance for Tiger conservation; wild populations of this species are decreasing at an alarming rate. While habitat loss and prey base declines are key factors, the primary cause of the Tigers endangerment has been considered to be Chinas traditional use of tiger parts in medicines. There has been considerable progress in China towards reducing the trade threat to wild Tigers. However, the Government of China is currently considering legalizing domestic trade in medicines from captive-bred Tigers. Overwhelming evidence stresses that a decision to re-open the trade would drive this species to extinction, wasting the significant progress China has made in tiger conservation. If the trade is opened the tiger goes extinct - it is that simple. Here is where you come in. Providing economic development in rural areas of Southeast Asia, while protecting the environment and wildlife, can be a major challenge. To address these related goals, Wildlife Alliance is supporting ecotourism development in the Southern Cardamoms Mountains, working with local communities like Chi Phat. This commune of four small villages totalling roughly 2500 people is located in the Cardamoms Protected Forest, in an area that was severely affected by guerrilla warfare and bombing. Economic development stalled for decades due to conflict and economic isolation. Covering 6% of Cambodia, the Cardamoms are home to most of the countrys large mammals and half of its birds, reptiles and amphibians, including globally endangered and threatened species like Asian Elephants, Indochinese tigers, Malayan sun bears, Pileated gibbons, Siamese crocodiles, and Irrawaddy and Humpback dolphins. The Cardamoms includes a vast ecosystem with sixteen vegetation types, from dense evergreen rainforest to lowland swamps to coastal mangroves. Wildlife Alliance began working in Chi Phat Commune in the heart of the Southern Cardamoms to implement Community-Based Ecotourism (CBET) as a way of conserving a region of exceptional natural and cultural significance. Wildlife Alliance is supporting Chi Phat in its effort to develop economically and ecologically sustainable tourism opportunities including trekking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing and bird watching, and improving access to waterfalls and Khmer Empire burial jar sites.
