Documentary about Aspergers Syndrome shown in TV in 2005 is about me, I have mild Aspergers Syndrome, I was diagnosed in 2002. I knew I was different from the age of about 6 years old, hypotheses included the reincarnation of King David or Pliny the Elder, a left behind Space Alien and finally mild autism. Other pupils were loud and ran around randomly, while I preferred a mature intellectual life. I became interested in astronomy/science ~3 years old, so Im told, it that made me stand out in school. I later became fascinated by mineralogy. I was bullied badly because I was odd, sometimes beaten up, for years. Bullying mostly stopped in secondary school as I found a group to hang around with. In 1987, at 14, I went to an astronomy lecture, but due to the excitement of it all I had a panic attack and I had to leave (a panic attack over astronomy?). This began over a decade of anxiety & panic attacks and increased reclusiveness, which I completely overcame in 1998. Perhaps due to my bad experience with Astronomy, I turned to Mineral collecting. One of isolating aspects of Aspergers is, we tend to talk at people not with people. However, in 1998, I did a 6 week geological mapping project with a friend, and I every hour or so we would sit and chat. After 4 weeks, our conversations became two way. While this was an improvement, it also led to my growing sense oddness. This processes I am told, is called gaining insight, some young adults with Aspergers try to transition from the basic social skills of childhood, to the more sophisticated social skills of adult life, but fail. A diagnosis was a great relief, I felt better about myself and understood myself more, I didnt need to be normal so badly (that ever that is). I set up a social group in 2002, made many good friends and found a girlfriend though the group. I find people with Aspergers (I have met aver 100) are all extremely kind and interesting people. My social skills have improved allot. I finished my Phd a few months ago and I am now looking forward to joining my girlfriend in New Zealand next year. I graduated with a PhD in geology in 2008.

A trailer from the upcoming documentary on psychedelic rock pioneers "Os Mutantes". The story of Os Mutantes is perhaps one of the strangest in the entire history of rock music, and has served as heady inspiration for artists as varied as David Byrne, Beck, Sean Lennon, and Nirvana. Imagine a 1960s Brazilian rock band on a weekly television program disguised as aliens, witches, or conquist-adors performing surreal hymns to such bizarre figures as Don Quixote (or at other times Genghis Khan and Lucifer) while tossing massive nets and giant rubber caterpillars across their audience. Add the fact that they had the courage to perform a fusion of traditional Brazilian rhythms with psychedelia at a time when the "MPB" (the Brazilian music establishment) were openly hostile to the wild sounds of American rock n roll and this provoked even further outrage by fashioning their own outrageous musical instruments, often constructed out of such common household objects as rubber hoses, cans of hot chocolate, or bottles of bug spray. Finally, they did all of this under the watchful eyes of a brutally repressive right-wing military dictatorship, as they were regularly censored by the government while performing alongside such musical revolutionaries as Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso (who, like many artists in Brazil at the time, were imprisoned and exiled for their political stance). The Poème électronique was an unique experience, originating from the request made by Philips to Le Corbusier to design the company pavilion at the Brussels 1958 World Fair. The whole project was initiated and directed by Le Corbusier, who also selected the images for the audiovisual show. Together with this visual show, there was the organized sound, composed by Edgar Varèse. The stunning surfaces of the building were designed by Iannis Xenakis. The Virtual Electronic Poem (VEP) project, co-funded by the European Union through the Culture 2000 programme, realized a virtual reality (VR) environment capable of reproducing the global experience of the Poème électronique through a philologically accurate reconstruction of the original installation and a technologically innovative VR implementation. Katherine Ann Moss, also known as Kate Moss, was born on January 16th, 1974 and is an iconic English fashion model. She is known for her waifish figure and many advertising campaigns and is also notorious for her high-profile relationships and party lifestyle. She has appeared on over 300 magazine covers. She was not particularly noted for her academic success, although she did excel at sports. According to Fred Vermorels Addicted to Love the Kate Moss Story (2007), she received one C (in Science) and Ds and Fs in all other subjects at GCSE level. She was discovered at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Model Management in 1988 at JFK Airport in New York City. She went on to become the anti-supermodel of the 1990s in contrast to the supermodels of the moment, such as Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell, who were known for their curvaceous and tall figures throughout the 90s. Moss was voted 8th in Celebrity Sleuths 25 ayipiest Women of 2004, 8th in Maxims 50 ayipiest Women of 1999 and 22nd in FHM 100 ayipiest Women of 1995. Moss has also agreed to make her first foray into the design world by designing a collection, in collaboration with Katy England, for Topshop, Moss launched a fragrance and body lotion range bearing her name in association with Coty in 2007. According to Forbes Moss is earning more money than before her cocaine scandal. Her 2004-2005 earnings were $5 million and her 2005-2006 earnings were $8 million. She is currently the second highest paid model in the world behind Gisele Bündchen. After previously having long-term relationships such as those with Mario Sorrenti and Johnny Depp, Moss had a daughter, Lila Grace Moss, born on 29 September 2002, with Dazed & Confused editor Jefferson Hack. She is also godmother to the two sons of The Clash member Paul Simonon and to the daughter of Sadie Frost and Jude Law. Kate Moss has long been linked romantically with former Libertines member Pete Doherty. On April 11, 2007 Pete Doherty announced Moss as his fiancée during one of his concerts in London, at which Moss also performed. Doherty planned to marry Moss during the summer 2007.
